The government will showcase solar energy-enabled mobile vehicles at key locations in Ayodhya (3 vehicles), Gorakhpur (4 vehicles), and Varanasi. Additionally, awareness campaigns will be conducted in schools and colleges across these cities. A Solar Fair will also be organized in each city to educate people about schemes promoting solar and other renewable energies.

300 Units of Free Electricity for Households:

The leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, significant progress is being made in the state’s solar energy sector. Nine solar parks with a combined electricity generation capacity of 3,840 MW are being established, out of which 528 MW of electricity is already being produced. These solar parks are primarily located in the Bundelkhand region and other areas.

As part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, solar energy systems are being installed on the rooftops of 2.5 million homes, providing households with 300 units of free electricity. Uttar Pradesh ranks fifth in terms of solar energy production potential, following Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, and is actively working to harness this potential.

16.17 MW Solar Energy under PM-KUSUM Scheme:

Farmers’ private on-grid pumps, along with separate agricultural electricity feeders, are also being solarized under the PM-KUSUM scheme. A total of 16.17 MW of grid-connected tube wells are now powered by solar energy. In addition, nearly 886 MW of solar-powered drinking water pumping stations have been set up in villages across 61 districts of the state. Over the past year, 528 MW of ground-mounted utility-scale projects have been commissioned, with an additional 6,800 MW of utility-scale projects in the process of being established.

39,250 MW Approved for Solar Power Projects Development: The Government of India has implemented a plan to develop solar parks and ultra-mega solar power projects, approving a total capacity of 39,250 MW. So far, around 11,591 MW of solar projects have been set up across 22 solar parks nationwide.

Uttar Pradesh’s Ambitious Solar Energy Goals: The Indian government aims to focus on rooftop solar installations, the establishment of solar cities, pump storage, and biomass energy production. Uttar Pradesh ranks second in biomass energy production. The state has set a target of generating approximately 22,000 MW of electricity from solar energy. This includes the installation of 6,000 MW of rooftop solar plants on private and government buildings and the establishment of solar parks and projects with a total capacity of 14,000 MW. As of now, the state has installed 3,871.17 MW of grid-connected renewable capacity, and 375 MW of rooftop solar systems have been set up in households.
